What is Hair Restoration from ATERA™ FUE?

Hair restoration from ATERA™ FUE uses advanced technologies for the follicular unit extraction (FUE). ATERA™ FUE is unique because the system keeps the hair follicle hydrated to provide better priming for the grafts. Hydrating the follicular units also streamlines the process. The result is an incredibly natural-looking hair growth pattern, even along the hairline.

Real Patient Testimonials

I have nothing but tremendous things to say about the experience we had with Dr. Taghizadeh and his staff -- Lindsey the office manager, Maureen the technical consultant, Antoinette, Sierra, and Tammy as the aestheticians, and of course Dr. Taghizadeh overseeing everything. The high level imaging that Arizona Facial Plastics utilizes to provide a comprehensive overview of what's going on and what treatments can work the best is a level I have not encountered before at other facilties. And then, the treatments went exactly as Dr. T stated -- both in terms of what to expect during the treatment and afterwards, as well as the desired effect. I cannot recommend everyone there enough! Our entire entourage were from out of town, and we will be going back several times in 2023!

Am I a Good Candidate for Hair Restoration from ATERA™ FUE?

Dr. Taghizadeh examines your hair loss during the consultation to determine if ATERA™ FUE is right for you. Typically, what he looks for are signs of male-pattern and female-pattern baldness. Thinning hair may be caused by other issues, such as hormonal changes, stress, hair products, medications, and some chronic illnesses. By ruling out these other causes of hair loss in men and women, Dr. Taghizadeh ensures that his patients are good candidates for ATERA™ FUE.

Hair Restoration from ATERA™ FUE Procedure

The ATERA™ FUE procedure involves taking hair follicles from the bottom of the scalp along the top of the neck. The area is prepared by trimming the hair to the proper length. Dr. Taghizadeh may require you to avoid trimming or cutting your hair for a period of time prior to the procedure. A local anesthesia is injected into the scalp to numb the donor and transplant areas. Using three to five-times magnification, Dr. Taghizadeh uses the ATERA™ FUE device to extract hair follicles of the desired diameter. The ATERA™ system stores, hydrates, and counts the follicles. Next, the hair follicles are inserted into the transplant area of the scalp. The length of the procedure depends upon the extent of thinning and balding that needs to be corrected.

Hair Restoration from ATERA™ FUE Recovery

Hair restoration from ATERA™ FUE is performed in our office, and it does not require an overnight stay in a hospital. You go home after a short recovery period. We recommend that you rest for the remainder of the day. You can return to work and other activities the following day. Dr. Taghizadeh provides specific aftercare instructions that need to be carefully followed to ensure the grafts remain in the scalp.

How Long Does Hair Restoration from ATERA™ FUE Last?

With proper hair care and a healthy lifestyle, the results of your hair restoration from ATERA™ FUE may be permanent. We recommend that you avoid any hair styling or techniques that put force on the hair, as this may cause the follicles to fall out of the scalp.
