What Is the Procedure for a Neck Lift via SmartLipo®?

Dr. Taghizadeh begins by administering a local anesthetic. You may be slightly awake and alert but won’t experience any discomfort. Once your neck is numbed, the doctor inserts a small tube near the point where your neck meets your ear or slightly lower depending on the treatment area. The SmartLipo® machine generates a current through the first tube, which causes the fat in the neck to dissolve and liquefy.

Once the fat is fully melted, Dr. Taghizadeh will remove the first tube and insert a second. This device acts as a vacuum to remove the fat from your neck area. The entire process takes about 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Neck Lift via SmartLipo® Recovery

After your neck lift procedure, you should plan to spend two hours or more in one of our recovery rooms, plus a few days recovering at home. In most cases, Dr. Taghizadeh will use sutures to close the skin where the SmartLipo® tubes were inserted. Therefore, you must make sure the stitches stay dry, and out of sunlight. Within a few weeks after your neck lift procedure, you will schedule and attend a follow-up visit with the doctor. He will remove the sutures and check on your recovery. You can expect full recovery and healing of the incision points within one week after the SmartLipo® neck lift treatment.
