What Is the Procedure for SmartLipo®?
Dr. Taghizadeh uses a local anesthetic to numb the SmartLipo® treatment areas, so you’ll be awake and alert during the procedure. He will begin by inserting a small tube into your face or neck, attaching it to the SmartLipo® equipment. The machine sends a warm, gentle current through the skin near the tube insertion point, reaching the fat cells underneath. The effect breaks down fat to make it weaker for the next step.
The doctor will then insert a second tube into the same point as the first. This device acts as a vacuum to pull the liquid fat from the area and preventing fat from settling into that same area in the future.
Typically, SmartLipo® can be performed within two hours, which may vary depending on the number of areas being treated. The advantage of SmartLipo® over traditional liposuction methods is that the surgery can reach smaller pockets of fat in areas that would be otherwise inaccessible. To obtain your desired results, you may need to attend up to three sessions.
SmartLipo® Recovery
The majority of patients experience dramatic results immediately after undergoing the SmartLipo® procedure. The local anesthetic may leave you feeling slightly groggy for a few hours, so Dr. Taghizadeh advises spending some time in the recovery room to rest before heading home. You may feel somewhat weak, unable to engage in physical activity or return to work; however, you will have the strength to recuperate and fully recover at home. Generally, you can return to work and your routine a few days after the procedure. You can enjoy permanent results from SmartLipo® as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
