Chin Augmentation in Phoenix, AZ

A weak chin can negatively impact a person’s self-esteem and self-confidence, and have an effect on a person’s psychological well-being. Chin augmentation procedures to strengthen the appearance of a weak chin are now being offered to residents who live in and around Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and the surrounding communities of Arizona by board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Farhan Taghizadeh at Arizona Facial Plastics, PC.

What is a Chin Augmentation?

A chin augmentation procedure is often performed on patients who have small, receding chin lines. The intent of the surgery is to enhance the chin to develop a more balanced, natural look. The implant material may be silicone, Teflon or Dacron, though some procedures may utilize real bone or tissue.

How Much Does a Chin Augmentation Cost in Phoenix?

Most insurance companies consider plastic surgery to be an elective procedure and do not offer coverage for these procedures; a chin augmentation treatment is usually excluded from policies. In order to make augmentation procedures and other plastic surgeries financially accessible and affordable, Arizona Facial Plastics, PC, accepts cash, checks and credit cards. If you have any questions about the chin augmentation procedure, recovery, costs or financing options at Arizona Facial Plastics, PC, please give us a call.

Benefits of Chin Augmentation

Patients have a unique, personal reason for wanting a chin augmentation so the benefits may vary. Some common results of the procedure include the following:

  • A more pronounced chin line
  • Better balance among facial features
  • Short recovery period
  • Increased confidence
  • Minimal scarring afterward

How Is a Chin Augmentation Performed?

Dr. Taghizadeh will begin the chin augmentation procedure by administering an anesthetic, but the type used will depend on the circumstances of the surgery. For a simple implant treatment, a local anesthetic is sufficient for him to complete his work. However, more complex chin augmentation that require meticulous bone reconstruction utilize general anesthesia for the process.

After anesthesia is administered, Dr. Taghizadeh will make an incision into the natural crevice of the chin, at the spot where the implant will be inserted. The skin is drawn slightly outward so the doctor can slide the implant into the small incision. If the chin implant procedure requires only an implant without bone reconstructive work, the insertion of the implant is the final step of the surgery. However, when Dr. Taghizadeh must reform the bone to accommodate the implant, additional incisions may be required along the chin and jawline to gain access. In both cases, small, unnoticeable sutures or other materials are used to complete the chin implant procedure.

Real Patient Testimonials

I have nothing but tremendous things to say about the experience we had with Dr. Taghizadeh and his staff -- Lindsey the office manager, Maureen the technical consultant, Antoinette, Sierra, and Tammy as the aestheticians, and of course Dr. Taghizadeh overseeing everything. The high level imaging that Arizona Facial Plastics utilizes to provide a comprehensive overview of what's going on and what treatments can work the best is a level I have not encountered before at other facilties. And then, the treatments went exactly as Dr. T stated -- both in terms of what to expect during the treatment and afterwards, as well as the desired effect. I cannot recommend everyone there enough! Our entire entourage were from out of town, and we will be going back several times in 2023!

The Recovery Process for Chin Augmentation

Most patients can expect to swell and bruise around the area of the operation. It’s common to experience some discomfort within the first seven days following the surgery. After a week, many patients can return to work and their daily routine, though you should discuss strenuous physical activities with Dr. Taghizadeh.

Is A Chin Augmentation Right for Me?

The decision to undergo a chin augmentation procedure is personal and depends upon your goals and motivations. An ideal candidate for this surgery is someone who feels they have a weak or small chin. Other patients opt for chin implants to correct a misshapen chin line due to a birth defect or injury, which impacts their appearance and ultimately overall attractiveness.
