Photofacial
Photofacials are procedures for the face and body face that utilize a type of light energy to reduce dark spots, treat broken capillaries and address other types of skin conditions that make you feel self-conscious and look older. The treatments have two benefits. First, the light energy specifically targets the treatment area without damaging the skin. Second, the mild heat that is generated during the procedure is proven to stimulate collagen development.

How IPL® Differ from Other Types of Skin Resurfacing?
Skin resurfacing can be achieved by a variety of techniques. IPL® is preferred in some cases because of the medium that is used (i.e., light energy) as well as the ability to address relatively small signs of aging and sun damage, such as freckles and dark spots. The technology is, though, flexible enough to treat larger areas, such as Rosacea and unwanted hair.
Recovery from IPL®
In most cases, IPL® treatments take about 30 minutes, but your session may be longer if Dr. Taghizadeh is treating a large area or several areas during the appointment. If a topical numbing agent is used for your intense pulse laser treatment, your skin may be numb for a few hours after the appointment. Some improvement is noted after one session, but full results typically require five treatments at intervals of four to six weeks.
What Will IPL® Do for My Skin?
Intense pulse laser treatments improve the overall appearance of your skin by:
- Evening out areas of dark skin to blend with the surrounding skin
- Improve skin tone and texture
- Eliminate skin discoloration caused by rosacea
- Destroy spider and varicose veins
- Remove unwanted hair
Will Everyone Benefit from IPL®?
As an expert in IPL® treatments, Dr. Taghizadeh understands that intense pulse laser treatments are safe and effective treatments for a variety of cosmetic concerns that are caused by aging and sun damage. Not everyone will benefit from the treatment, though. Even if you are not a good candidate for IPL® treatments, Dr. Taghizadeh specializes in many procedures that give every patient an option for non-surgical skin resurfacing. During your personal consultation, he will recommend the safest and most effective treatment for you.
