IPL in Phoenix, AZ
IPL®, or intense pulse laser, treatments are recommended by board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Farhan Taghizadeh, of Arizona Facial Plastics, PC, because the procedure treats many of the most common skin concerns caused by sun damage and aging. Men and women who live in and around Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and the surrounding communities of Arizona entrust their IPL® treatments to Dr. Taghizadeh because he is highly respected amongst his patients and peers.
What is IPL®?
Intense pulse laser, or IPL®, uses broad spectrum light to correct common skin problems while improving the tone and texture of your complexion. Using a special device, Dr. Taghizadeh applies high energy light to the target area with an exceptional level of precision. The light waves destroy the underlying cause of the condition while promoting collagen production to firm and tone the skin.
Dr. Taghizadeh recommends IPL® treatments for men and women with:
- Dark spots
- Unwanted hair on the face and body
- Sun damage
- Varicose veins
- Large pores
- Age spots
- Spider veins
Benefits of IPL®
Intense pulse laser technology is one of today’s most advanced options for non-surgical correction of common skin problems. Intense pulse laser treatments at Arizona Facial Plastics, PC, allow men and women to:
- Have treatment with little to no discomfort during the procedure
- Correct common skin problems with one type of treatment
- Improve their appearance without surgery, downtime, and extensive recovery
- Enjoy long-term results
What Can I Expect from IPL®?
You will see immediate improvements after the first treatment. Dr. Taghizadeh advises his patients that achieving full results from their IPL® treatments may require more than one session depending on the type and extent of the skin condition being treated.
Photofacials are procedures for the face and body face that utilize a type of light energy to reduce dark spots, treat broken capillaries and address other types of skin conditions that make you feel self-conscious and look older. The treatments have two benefits. First, the light energy specifically targets the treatment area without damaging the skin. Second, the mild heat that is generated during the procedure is proven to stimulate collagen development.
How IPL® Differ from Other Types of Skin Resurfacing?
Skin resurfacing can be achieved by a variety of techniques. IPL® is preferred in some cases because of the medium that is used (i.e., light energy) as well as the ability to address relatively small signs of aging and sun damage, such as freckles and dark spots. The technology is, though, flexible enough to treat larger areas, such as Rosacea and unwanted hair.
Recovery from IPL®
In most cases, IPL® treatments take about 30 minutes, but your session may be longer if Dr. Taghizadeh is treating a large area or several areas during the appointment. If a topical numbing agent is used for your intense pulse laser treatment, your skin may be numb for a few hours after the appointment. Some improvement is noted after one session, but full results typically require five treatments at intervals of four to six weeks.
What Will IPL® Do for My Skin?
Intense pulse laser treatments improve the overall appearance of your skin by:
- Evening out areas of dark skin to blend with the surrounding skin
- Improve skin tone and texture
- Eliminate skin discoloration caused by rosacea
- Destroy spider and varicose veins
- Remove unwanted hair
Will Everyone Benefit from IPL®?
As an expert in IPL® treatments, Dr. Taghizadeh understands that intense pulse laser treatments are safe and effective treatments for a variety of cosmetic concerns that are caused by aging and sun damage. Not everyone will benefit from the treatment, though. Even if you are not a good candidate for IPL® treatments, Dr. Taghizadeh specializes in many procedures that give every patient an option for non-surgical skin resurfacing. During your personal consultation, he will recommend the safest and most effective treatment for you.
How Much Does IPL® Cost in Phoenix?
