Rhinoplasty, more often known as a nose job, is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures in the US. With this procedure, the overall size of the nose can be corrected, a bump may be removed, the tip of the nose or bridge may be contoured, the size of the nostrils can be decreased, and the nose’s angle can be altered. These changes can all be performed for aesthetic reasons in order to enhance the overall look of one’s facial features. Many patients opt to undergo rhinoplasty in the summer for a number of different reasons. For younger patients, it is a time when they are out of school which allows them plenty of time for recovery. Often, nasal trauma requiring correction happens more often with outdoor activities, which happen more in the summer as well. Rhinoplasty also has the functional purpose of improving your ability to breathe whether the surgery is performed for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes.
